Investigation Discovery has announced “Boy Band Confidential,” a new special event that goes deep inside the boy band boom of the late 1990s and early aughts, revealing how the industry transformed young performers into marketable commodities while exposing untold stories of abuse, addiction, and financial manipulation.
Through raw, unfiltered interviews with some of the biggest names in pop, “Boy Band Confidential” exposes the secret machinery of manufactured superstardom and the devastating human cost of the era’s glossy perfection.
“Boy Band Confidential: A Hollywood Demons Event” premieres on Monday, April 13th and Tuesday, April 14th from 9-11pm ET/PT on ID. The second season of “Hollywood Demons” premieres Monday, April 20th at 9pm ET/PT on ID, with both titles available to stream on HBO Max.

Offering the definitive reckoning, the series also features candid voices from managers, insiders, and those closest to the teen heartthrobs who witnessed the pressure, the power struggles, and the darker realities behind the scenes, all while navigating the very system that employed them.
Boy Band Confidential goes in depth to reveal how young performers were sculpted into high-value commodities, while revealing the powerful industry forces that shaped a cultural tidal wave of fandom.
The four part event launches ahead of season two of Hollywood Demons, which continues its signature blend of balancing nostalgia with confronting uncomfortable truths that reveal that what the world saw was often far from the reality lived.
Each two hour episode revisits cultural touchstones such as The Jerry Springer Show, Saved by the Bell, and 16 and Pregnant, delivering deep investigations into the emotional and systemic costs of fame.
This second season also explores broader patterns, from child stars whose early success propelled them into shocking adult trajectories, to a harrowing look at the so-called “celebrity doctors” whose actions are implicated in the tragic overdoses of stars like Matthew Perry and Prince.
